The 11-Day Classic Central Europe with Gate1 was just what I was looking for. The history of these cities: Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Prague, and Berlin are amazing. Gate1 did a great job covering the highlights. Each city guide was exceptional - they all presented the highlights of the sites we were seeing and seemed to have a great sense of humor. Thanks again to Gate1 for tipping the city guides as each country seemed to have a different currency - and it just simplifies the trips when we only must tip the tour guide & bus driver. The hotels were nice - and centrally located for sightseeing & restaurants. Gate1 delivered again!! That's why I keep scheduling trips with Gate1!!

It was our virgin trip with Gate 1 & we were ecstatic! Why? The 1st & foremost reason was our Program Director, Britta , who had put us at ease with each destination through saturating us with information about each place we are going to visit and really being so responsible for each of our well beings & safety, kept us all grounded & one as a group. The other reason was our driver Pawel who had made sure we did not sustain even a scratch through his mindful, safety & smooth driving! We were all beyond grateful & lucky to have them both. The best part of our trip was totally immersing ourselves to the magnificent & majestic mountains of Switzerland & the crystal clear turquoise blue lakes! In short, we are more than happy to, we're overwhelmed with joy! We will be planning other TRIPS with Gate 1. Thank you!

Our group of 36 was on the same page from the very beginning. Everyone got along wonderfully, was welcoming, and was always on time each day. From the moment we met Asia (Joanna) at our welcome meeting until our final departure, she was an absolute gem! The information she shared was invaluable. During the longer bus rides, she entertained and educated us with stories, history, sing-alongs, never-ending chocolate treats, and even some Polish vodka! She truly went above and beyond to make our experience special. Each town had its own unique charm, and the local guides were invaluable in helping us appreciate Poland's rich history and culture. My visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau was especially moving and transformative-an experience I will never forget. Thank you, Gate 1, for another incredible travel experience! You introduced me to the warm, kind people of Poland and showed me what a beautiful, welcoming, and remarkably clean country it is. I returned home with wonderful memories, a deeper appreciation for Poland, and gratitude for another unforgettable adventure. I can't wait for my next Gate 1 trip!

My husband Greg and I want to share a VERY positive feedback about our recent Gate 1 tour - 13 Day Bulgarian Discovery. We were very happy that Gate 1 offered this new Discovery tour - 1 country in the Balkan region only, not 3-4 countries like other tours. The itinerary was perfect. Do NOT change it. Our trip was not too rushed. We had enough time to explore each area and still had some time on our own. 2 night stays were sufficient. (Better than 1 night stays and 'hopping' between locations.) An added trip to Sozopol was a plus (change in the itinerary due to strong winds on Day 9.) One of the reasons we truly enjoyed our tour was our amazing Tour Manager Mira. She is a very knowledgeable, organized, and personable guide. Her English is excellent. Mira was a joy to spend our 11-12 days with. She was always concerned about everyone's wellbeing, offered suggestions, shared interesting stories, and kept us safe and happy. (Mira deserves a raise! :) We were also very glad that Mira is Bulgarian and knows her own country very well. Two local guides definitely deserve out praise - Dafi in Sofia & Rila Monastery and Sofie (or Sofia) in Veliko Tarnovo. Also huge thanks to our excellent Romanian driver Costi (Constantin) for keeping us safe and on time for our activities. One of the best, most gentle & patient drivers we've had on our Gate 1 tours. Why did we choose Bulgaria? Greg is very interested in the Thracian history and archeology. Thanks to this itinerary we were able to visit 5 archeological museums! We enjoyed the variety of activities - history, arts, culture, interesting architecture, winemaking, food, some nature and sites. I loved the Bulgarian pottery, textiles and traditional costumes. And the Thracian Gold treasures, of course. I also LOVED the home hosted meals - dinner near Plovdiv and Banitsa cooking class & lunch in a farm house (Diana was the wonderful host) near Veliko Tarnovo. Both host families were VERY gracious, friendly and hospitable. It was a great pleasure to meet them all. Our favorite hotel was the Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena. We also loved the area around Bansko. Nice to be in a small town in the mountain region.

Our tour of Poland was wonderful. The World War II history was truly compelling, the countryside beautiful, and the people warm and welcoming. Chris was an excellent guide, definitely one of the best among our 18 trips with Gate 1 Discovery Tours. I would encourage anyone to visit this historic and charming country.

Our tour guide Marc was excellent. He offered suggestions for time on our own and tailored that time to the group's consensus. He was very knowledgeable and gave us information as we traveled. I would take another trip with him. Filip, our driver was also very nice. He was friendly, helped boarding and getting off. He always had water for us. He was wonderful. Both made our trip a great experience.

I have always wanted to visit Prague and Austria, so Munich and Budapest were bonuses!!! All of the cities/ countries were drop dead gorgeous and their citizens couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly! I enjoyed tasting/eating new foods of each area- all delicious! Absolutely love Budapest and Lake Wolfgang (highlights)! Our tour manager, JD was the cherry on top!!! He was very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor, kept a tight ship and was so thoughtful and generous!!! The other guides were so pleasant - they were "walking encyclopedias"! I learned so much and made new friends! Looking forward to my next trip!!! Gate 1 Travel never disappoints!

It was a very informative and beautiful tour that took us to WWII, the history of the War and the places that held history alive. The Memorial for U.S. Forces who fought for freedom, for the next generation and for peace in Europe. Our Tour Manager, Marc, was an excellent guide because he knew the history & places of interest. Kudos to Gate1 & our tireless Tour Manager Marc. Everything went well without a hitch.

We enjoyed very much our Classic Central Europe tour with Gate 1. It was well organized and covered the main attractions in Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava and Prague, while allowing us the flexibility to either join the optional tours or explore the cities ourselves. The local guides were very knowledgeable about their respective cities and provided a lot of interesting facts about their areas. The driver was also very helpful and safely took us to the various stops with no issues. Above all, the overall tour guide - Neyra - was fantastic. She provided us with exceptional service, with excellent attention to details, proactive approach by thinking ahead of our needs and managing the tour in a very organized manner, genuine concern for our welfare, friendly treatment of guests, humor, and extensive knowledge of the places we visited. Neyra really made our third tour with Gate 1 truly memorable. She has so far been the best overall tour guide we have ever dealt with.

The 14 Day Classic Baltics with Helsinki & Krakow has been an enjoyable trip. We learned about the history, geography, food, and customs of the people of these countries. The best parts for me were the ferry ride from Helsinki to Tallinn, walking on the cobblestone alleys in the Old Towns, the KGB cell, Auschwitz visit, & the Wieliczka Salt Mines. Lucky for our group that the weather was nearly perfect with cloudy blue skies. We encountered rain one day, so we used our umbrellas once. This tour is a good introduction to the Baltic countries.

This was our first trip with Gate1 and I'm so glad we booked it. Our Tour Manager, Marta, was amazing! She shared so much history about Poland, even some of her family history. Her love for Poland was really evident. She made and passed out handouts of the Polish National Anthem, get familiar with Polish Currency & Stores, Polish Flavors, Polish Phrases, and Recommended Movies and Books. She also gave us samples of candies and drinks; we had a Q.&A. game. She gave us recommendations for our free time and safety tips. Andre our driver was wonderful! We were very impressed with his driving skills, we always felt safe. Gdansk was my favorite city. We loved the location of our hotel and the city guide, (Anna/Anya).I am beyond happy that we made this trip. I feel in love with Poland and her people. I felt well cared for and that we got a quality tour. Thank you Gate1.

This was one of the best trips we have taken with Gate 1! Everything went very smoothly, the group harmony was outstanding, we made new friends ! Our Tour Manager Gabi was incredible! She is very knowledgeable, caring, constantly looking out for the group's safety. She was amazing recommending places to eat, to see on our free time. There were no questions that she couldn't answer. We absolutely loved her! Gate 1 does a great job picking the itinerary. We really visited all the Alpine Jewels! Very, very grateful! Can't wait for more amazing adventures with Gate 1!

Katarina, our Tour Manager and Eric, the bus driver were absolutely wonderful! They were pleasant, funny, fun to be with and very informative and very accommodating....They are the bar we have set for our future trips with Gate 1 for sure! David and Renner, our local guides were fun, had great information and little tidbits that made each tour interesting and memorable! I loved every minute of all of it....these folks were the cherry on top!!! A huge thank you to all of them for making my 'bucket list' trip worth the wait!

My trip was wonderful. We had an excellent guide: YOLANTA was fabulous. Love her tone of voice, her sense of humor, excellent command of the English language, very organized. She made the long drives very informative also during those long drives she would have some local goodies to distribute (chocolate candy and more). She had a very nice way to make the group integrate and have fun. I was with my 16 Yrs. old granddaughter and she also enjoyed all the activities, admired castles, churches, parks and every place we toured. For sure my granddaughter will be back with Gate One. (This was her second time. Her first experience was when she was 12 Yrs old). I cannot leave out to thank CONRAD, our friendly driver, a gentleman who drove us safely throughout many countries.

The Gate1 trip to the Baltics was wonderful. So much to see and experience, so much interesting history. Our tour guide and all local guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. Our bus driver was great in navigating the roads both within the cities and highways. A truly great experience.

It was just awesome! Loved it. Marko was a very good trip lead, not to mention Johnny, an excellent driver. All local guides too were exceptional, where each of them added their personal touches or knowledge of the areas visited. While loved every part of the trip, I was much touched with the Romanian liberation protestor/speaker and his personal experience of the demonstrations leading to free Romania. I personally felt his emotions and was much touched with his story.

An unforgettable 4-country journey through Central Europe! Every destination-Poland, Hungary, Austria, and the Czech Republic-with side trip to Bratislava was magical. Our tour manager Matt was exceptional, ensuring our safety and comfort every step of the way. Combined with our professional and steady tour driver Martin, the logistics were flawless. Five stars!"

We have been on many Gate 1 trips and have enjoyed each one of them. But we have just finished our Poland trip and wish to especially contact you with the highest praise for our guide, Joanna. She was so knowledgeable, organized, always welcoming and available. She kindly offered snacks of candy, gingerbread, etc. and prepared a picnic for us. We had 2 birthdays and she organized celebratory treats for each one ( with permission from the spouses). We lived our trip and it was made even more special because of Joanna. She also expressed gratitude to Gate 1 for all they do to provide excellent trips and she is grateful to work for them. Our bus driver was also excellent and much appreciated! Our group was large, but everyone appreciated Joanna and we all were grateful for this wonderful trip. Thank you.

Marina was a wonderful tour guide for our Switzerland hiking tour! She is a positive shining force and both me and my mother really cherish the experiences and memories we gained with her and the rest of the group.

The trip was wonderful! Switzerland was absolutely beautiful and the cogwheel trains, boat tours, etc were perfect! Having a small group is very nice as well. Petra our tour guide was great, very informative, extremely kind and we would love having her as our guide anytime!! We will continue to use Gate 1 again like we have done in the past.

I had an excellent trip. I was very impressed by the tour Manager Damian and the driver Piotr. They both did an excellent job. I think Damian is the best tour manager I have ever met and I have travelled with a variety of touring companies.

We had a great trip! We enjoyed our travels through the small German, Swiss and Austrian towns. Our guide, Soma was excellent.

A special thank you to our tour guide, Micheal, for making our vacation so enjoyable. He was kind, knowledgeable, and always made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. His warm personality brought our entire group together, making the trip even more memorable. We truly appreciated his care, professionalism, and positive attitude. Thank you, Micheal, for an unforgettable experience!

Just a brief note to acknowledge Michael, the Tour Manager, on our recent Gate 1 Central Europe tour. He was outstanding in every way that matters to a family on vacation. He was extremely knowledgeable, provided information and context concerning all the places we visited, ensured our comfort and safety, and was kind, personable, approachable, and good-humored throughout our ten days together. Although we travel specifically to visit unique countries on the tour, the tour manager has an impact on our enjoyment of each locale. Michael added immeasurably to our enjoyment and memory of each city/country on the tour, and he is a tribute to Gate 1. His professionalism reflects well on the company. This was our fourth Gate 1 international trip, and we will travel again with Gate 1.

This was our first time traveling with Gate1. Everything right from booking the travel (with Vicky), all the travel arrangements, hotels, food, transportation, tour manager (Katarina), coach driver (Tom) - was absolutely great! Katarina arranged daily schedules flawlessly and we were able to cover everything we'd planned for and some more. I can't wait to book my next trip with Gate1. Thank you!

Another excellent tour by Gate 1. The history of the country was so well done by the tour guide and local guides as well. There is always something to learn and experience on these tours. The variety of daily activities is so varied that there is something for everyone. We will continue to explore the world with Gate 1.

We just returned from our 13 day trip to Lake Como, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. It was a fabulous trip! This is the 5th Gate 1 trip we've taken. We had the BEST Tour Manager ever in GABI. What an absolute gem - she was incredibly helpful with everything and took great care of us!!! Of the five trips we've taken with Gate 1 - Gabi is by far the best tour manager we've had. Also, our bus driver, Andrea, was wonderful as well! We love Gate 1 and look forward to future trips with you!

Gabi, our tour director was just the best tour director ever. She is so knowledgeable about the different countries. She tells wonderful stories on the bus and she's just a very caring and kind person. My bag was lost for a week and she really helped with the communication to authorities in customs and the airlines to get my bag finally delivered to the hotel. Gate One packed in even more activities and countries than the itinerary in the brochure. Lichtenstein was a surprise. The whole trip was wonderful. We even had perfect weather-in between heat waves.

Syd and I had the most wonderful time on our first Gate 1 River Cruise. From the time we booked it, we have been excited to experience both the cruise and the excursions. From our initial flight, to our destinations, to our flights home, it was smooth, interesting, and well coordinated. Everyone involved with Gate 1 was knowledgeable and friendly. We especially enjoyed having Esther as our tour guide. She made us feel personally welcome, and I felt she wanted everyone to have their best time. Niko had some great ideas for activities, which we enjoyed. Our room was clean, bright, and secure. I don't remember all of the names of our local guides, but they were knowledgeable as well. We enjoyed hearing about all of the history. We definitely have plans to travel with Gate 1 again. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This was my 14th Gate 1 trip, and reminded me all over again why I keep coming back to Gate 1 Travel. My mother is Bulgarian and I have wanted to see this region all my life. I'm so glad that when I finally went it was on a fabulous, packed itinerary that allowed us to see and enjoy as much of the countries as we possibly could in the time we had. All the hotels were comfortable and well-located, most of them situated in their respective city centers, and all very walkable. The coach was comfortable and the driver Adrian was prompt and competent. The history, culture, and vibrancy of all three countries really shone through the well-crafted and immersive itinerary. The local guides were all knowledgeable and engaging, and Matthew at Bran Castle was a real standout. Almost everyone in the tour group enthusiastically agreed that he was the best local guide of the trip, with many people saying he was the best they've ever experienced. And where do I even begin about Sherban? He's everything a tour manager should be and so much more. I hope Gate 1 realizes what an asset this man is. He is truly a master of his craft. This was the largest Gate 1 tour group I've ever had, yet he kept things running smoothly, punctually, and harmoniously. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different regions we visited, and presented that knowledge in a way that was interesting, humorous, and relatable. He made everyone feel individually seen and heard, even in a group of 42 travelers. I am left eagerly anticipating my next Gate 1 trip in a few months, and can confidently say that I intend to be a Gate 1 traveler for life.

The tour manager Kayo and driver Conrad are excellent, very friendly - helpful - well experienced. They put Client Satisfaction and Safety on top of everything else. Our family of 4 enjoyed the tour very much, it was beyond expectation. We'll come back to Gate 1 for more good time.

The trip was wonderful. Our tour manager, the driver, and all the local tour guides we met along the way were fantastic, not to mention our fellow travelers. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend it. This was my very first experience with Gate1 and surely it won't be the last.

I wanted to provide additional feedback for our guide. Eugene was an exceptional travel guide and truly made our trip memorable. He answered every question with incredible knowledge and, whenever there was a place, we wanted to visit, he took the time to research it and send us the booking links, making everything so easy. He genuinely cared that everyone was having a great time and regularly checked in to make sure we were all enjoying ourselves. Eugene has a fantastic sense of humor, and he took my pranks in stride-often getting me back with a few of his own-which made the experience even more fun and personal. What stood out most was how much he cared about our safety. Whenever we went sightseeing on our own in the evenings, he asked us to message him once we were back at the hotel, so he knew we had arrived safely. That level of care was greatly appreciated. He also shared a variety of local sweets with us so we could experience authentic treats we might not have discovered on our own. Eugene was personable, approachable, and professional throughout the trip. He even lent us his battery pack when our hotels didn't have USB ports available to charge our devices, going above and beyond to help whenever he could. Eugene's knowledge, thoughtfulness, professionalism, and genuine care for his guests made our trip unforgettable. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an outstanding travel guide.

It was fantastic! Our guide, Dominique, did an excellent job and easily navigated us through multiple forms of transportation to get us to our hiking trails. The views on the hikes were phenomenal. We especially enjoyed the extra experiences along the way such as remote local restaurants, trailside picnics, cheese tastings, and winery visit. All the accommodations were beautiful with wonderful views. I can't wait to return for another walking trip.

What a wonderful taste of a beautiful and historic part of Europe. We toured the 3 magnificent cities of Prague, Bratislava and Budapest. Each has its own story and charm. Martina, our tour manager, was very knowledgeable and kind. She kept our group at a great pace and her clever sense of humor kept the group laughing. This is a great tour for getting an insight into a part of the world that will make you want to come back for more. Thank you Gate1.

We had a wonderful trip! Poland was a delight, neither of us had been there before. Marta was a great help in Poland. The cruise was just perfect, even though the Danube water level was low and we couldn't reach our final destination of Regensburg via boat. We enjoyed all the stops and views. Martin, our tour director and Nick, our activity director are the BEST! The entire Monarch Queen staff was superb and everyone was very helpful and kind. The food was delicious. This was our first river cruise and I am sure we will be back again. We are now planning our next G1 trip to Portugal/Madeira for next year, although that Douro River cruise on the new ship looks very interesting!

I just want to write and let you know that my walking trip to Switzerland was amazing. There was two walking trips in Switzerland, and it was hard to make a decision between these two, and I definitely want to return and do the other walking tour as well, that is also goes to South of Switzerland and Lake Lugano. Our Tour manager Marina was the best, no words can describe her professionalism, and experience handling all the difficulties of arranging everything and taking care of us as a hiking group. I wish when I come back I still have her as my walking tour manager. Guido was amazing and fun. They both made our tour more interesting, fun and memorable. I am hoping that I will come back to do the 10 Day Swiss Walking Tour with St. Moritz & Lugano trip. This was my 8th trip and I am looking forward to do more walking and other tours with Gate 1 in the future.

We want to recognize Matt and Pavla for providing us with exceptional service and dedication that made our experiences memorable and long lasting. They were amazing hosts and Gate 1 should be proud to have them on their team. Thank you again for making our trip complete in every way.

Our trip exceeded our expectations! Our tour guide, Marc, was amazing, as well as our driver, Tibor. The tour was perfectly paced with guided sightseeing and independent travel

This tour should be called Breathtaking Switzerland. Each stop seemed more beautiful than the last. We covered a lot of ground but at a comfortable pace. Our guide, Siobhan, was organized, knowledgeable and very kind. Bruno, our driver, expertly navigated the winding mountainous roads with ease. This was our first time visiting Switzerland but hopefully not our last. Thank you Gate1.

Thomas is an incredible Tour Manager. I look forward to another trip with him in the future. He's professional, knowledgeable, engaging, thoughtful, and entertaining. The tour itinerary was excellent - a fantastic mix of spectacular scenery, history, art, music, food and fun activities to immerse us in the culture. I enjoyed the more relaxed itinerary in comparison to other tours (though I understood the sometimes-rushed schedules on previous tours to avoid the worst of the crowds, to maximize activities, etc.). It really allowed us to savor the environment like the locals.

Thank You - We're still recovering from Jet lag, but overall, we had great time! A River Cruise was a first for us and most of the time we didn't know what to expect, but the Cruise Directors and staff had things very well organized. I must compliment a few Gate 1 staff members, Matt Tour Director from Warsaw to Budapest, Monarch Baroness staff members Martin Cruise director, Ega Head Waiter and Zaw Waiter on our riverboat. These gentlemen performed over and above their duties. Benny was a pure delight and an amazing entertainer who seemed to help out anywhere he was needed. Because of all of them it made our vacation very enjoyable!

Excellent trip. We enjoyed the trip very well. The coverage of locations, airport- hotel transfer, hotels were all excellent. Particularly we admire tour manager Justyna for the wonderful task of everything including selecting some of the best restaurants. We would certainly take more Gate1 tours in future.

We had an excellent experience traveling with Gate 1 for the first time. Our Tour Manager , Matthias knows his job well, was an effective communicator, able to meet the needs of all traveling in our group. Local tour guides very knowledgeable and professional. Hotels were very nice, and in a great location to city centre areas. Meals provided were exceptional. Nice balance of touring with group, optional tours and independent time on this tour. Would highly recommend Gate 1 for their quality of service provided.

Thank you to Captain Thomas and ALL the staff and crew for a wonderful river cruise!! Thankyou especially to Captain Thomas (excellent captain, friendly, knowledgeable, approachable, enjoyed talking with him and also learned so much from him), Kriss (great Tour Manager), Laura (great Activities Host), Chef Irwan (FANTASTIC Master Chef - EVERYTHING was OUTSTANDING - selections, taste, presentation, availability to talk to him), Taufig chef, Lin chef, Waiters: Firmin, Nemanya, Chan, Yunn, Saw, Indra, Farj, Farhas, Peter, Weni, Bojan (awesome Hotel Mgr), Andrea, Costi (always helping us at reception during the day), and the nighttime receptionist (I'm sorry, I don't know your name but we appreciated your help!), Myat (a FANTASTIC cabin steward). Thankyou to EVERYONE for a fantastic experience.
