I want to express my gratitude for the superlative service Juan provided for us on the Peru Classic Tour. He thoughtfully, intelligently and gracefully handled every situation. He was very knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and his organization and time management were impeccable. He had a great sense of humor and kept us all laughing. I was truly amazed that one person could manifest all these qualities in a sustained manner. In addition, I want to express my gratitude to our driver Rosell. He skillfully and safely drove our bus in very challenging situations: on windy snowy Andean roads, packed city rush hour streets, and narrow muddy rural roads.

I just got back from Peru-10 Day Classic Peru - Plan A Hotels. It was a trip more than that. There was more to the trip. Up until the very last day, every detail of the itinerary was carefully planned. I will always cherish the memories I made there, and it held a lot of power for me. Their cuisine, culture, history, and landscapes were all fantastic. Our tour manager Washington and the other staff members Jason and driver Cezar also contributed to its uniqueness. They were so caring, punctual and very professional. Washington throughout the tour, in addition to the numerous information he had, what made him special was not only his knowledge, but the way he shared the spirit and wisdom of the Inca culture. He helped us connect with the history, traditions, and spirituality of Peru on a much deeper level. His guidance made this trip unforgettable, and he was one of the highlights of our entire journey. I would like to commend Julio, our tour manager, for his excellent service. He was one of the best tour managers I have had with Gate 1 and made the trip to Peru a very memorable one. Elvis, our devoted and highly experienced Tour Guide made the Peruvian Legends Discovery Tour come alive for our group. From the very beginning in Lima throughout the itinerary which included Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Puno, Lake Titicaca, Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu were unforgettable. The in-country flights between cities were made so easy with Elvis' leadership and control of the group from check-in to our destination. The Gate-1 team included Elvis, Pepe, Dante, and Marisio worked seamlessly to make our tour the best.

I just returned from a tour with Gate1 in Peru. It was FANTASTIC. I had never toured with Gate1 previously, though I have with several other companies. Gate1 is superior to those -- and our tour guide, Ruben, was the best! He was so friendly, knowledgeable, personable, and talented (played the flute/recorder on the bus while we were traveling). Plus, Ruben provided clear and detailed instructions that made each day's plans simple to follow. For part of the tour, we also had another guide, Joao, who was also very helpful and friendly. As for Peru - what a lovely Country. I highly recommend to my friends that they take a tour of such a beautiful place. And, hopefully, Rugen will be their tour guide. Also, I was so pleasantly surprised by being provided with bottled water on the bus - every day. That was very much appreciated. And at the time we had a "boxed" lunch - WOW, so much food. Thank you, thank you.

"Excellent" does not go far enough to describe Abel. He is the most organized person I've ever met. He went far beyond expectations to ensure that our trip, especially airport transfers, went extremely smoothly. Additionally, he took great pains to ensure our health and safety, particularly regarding our travels at the altitudes we were not used to. I cannot praise Abel enough. He was an outstanding tour manager.

I wanted to say that our tour manager Paval was the best tour manager that I have ever encountered with any company. I rated him excellent on everything, but I wanted you to know that in every category he went above and beyond. He made us all feel like we were in his family and he thought of everything from things to do in leisure to very interesting personal anecdotes about an area. He is top notch Our local guide in Cusco, Avaral was also outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and kind. He was an excellent tour manager. He took a subset of us on the Machu Pichu walk. It was amazing. He had so much knowledge and he helped us with photos at great locations. All of your local guides are very good, but Avalral was outstanding!!!

Henry, our tour director, is very knowledgeable and well versed about historical beginnings and early transformations of Incas up to modern times. He keeps his group well informed and well managed but most of all, always keeps his team safe. He could be a great asset to Gate1.

Tour Manager Percy was fantastic. Have grown to expect knowledgeable and competent guides with our Gate 1 trips. But Percy and Jason took things to another level by making so many things seamless for myself and the group. Examples included having our baggage tags and boarding passes printed out ahead of time, and distributed to us ahead of both flights within Peru. Also had our ID name tags ready for us and always distributed a copy of, and discussed the next day's schedule the night before. Also like to note that our Inca Trail guide, Jose - was MOST helpful in helping complete the trek up to Machu Picchu. A great team of folks!

I can't praise this experience enough! This was my first time doing a multi-day guided tour, and I'd been incredibly hesitant to do one, because I've always enjoyed traveling at my own pace. But the Gate 1 eleven day Peru trip blew me away, and I'm so glad I decided to go with this company and this tour! Our guide Edgar was truly wonderful in every way. I am a tour guide in California, so I know how hard the job is and what a good tour guide looks like vs a bad one. He was exceptional, as were Angela, Joel, Broz, and Alvaro as well. What a team! Everything about the tour was perfect, from the hotels and meals to the focused experiences and the optional ones. It was well paced, well planned, and seamlessly coordinated, despite tons of moving pieces. It was so incredibly soothing to be able to relax knowing I was in the hands of expert guides and an exceptional company. Every day and every little experience was educational and meaningful, and I really appreciated Edgar taking an anthropological approach to so much of his guiding. I'd been dreaming of seeing Peru ever since studying about it in college 25 years ago, and Gate 1 and Edgar brought it all to life for me and made my dream trip come true. Thank you!

Victor's passion for his country, his knowledge, concern for the well being of the 19 guests in our group, or "family" has he called us, and his incredible management for some VERY complicated locations like Machu Picchu. Again, hands down Victor was the best.

Our Gate 1 Peru vacation was one of our best Gate 1 trips ever! Our tour guide, Pavel, was super organized, very well informed, and very professional. Also, all the folks in our tour group were friendly and easy to get along with. It was one of the most tight knit tour groups we've travelled with. The local guides were all very knowledgeable and professional. The tour exceeded my expectations. For example, I thought I'd be lucky to see 1 or 2 condors soaring at an extreme distance, but we saw over 15 condors!, many of which flew and roosted quite close to us. I need to make sure Gate 1 sees my very positive impressions of our tour guide, Pavel, as well as the other local experts.

It was wonderful!! Couldn't have been better. Our guides Javier in Ecuador and Ronald in Peru were awesome in every way! The drivers were amazing and the local guides were so informative and passionate about their culture and countries. I would certainly recommend it to all travelers and friends.

My trip was the most amazing adventure with Gate 1. Our tour director Elvis was a fantastic leader of our Peru family. Our group consisted of various personalities and backgrounds that came together to form a bond that created a lasting impression on me. We had the best driver Julio navigating the beautiful terrain of the various cities of Peru. Our knowledgeable tour guides Mauricio and Jason were extremely informative and helpful. We were on the 14 Day Peruvian Legends tour. Our tour guide, Elvis, was one of the most exceptional guide we have experienced. We had some of our follow guest have altitude sickness and other medical problems, he handled everything perfectly and with great skill. While visiting the school in Peru you could tell that the students and staff at the school were very happy and excited to see Elvis. He had a diverse group and was able to work with everyone and gain cohesion to make a fun trip. Elvis helped us understand the politics of election in Peru and how the country developed and is now functioning. Thanks for finding an excellent guide for our tour. You should be very proud to have Elvis on your team.

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed being able to visit both the Amazon and the Andes on my recent trip. It was the chance to experience both locales that led me to book this trip. I also wanted to commend Mauricio for his outstanding service as our tour manager. He went out of his way to take good care of each of us, and we learned so much from him. Plus he had a great sense of humor and made the trip fun as well as informative. Another plus was that all of the members of our group were kind, considerate, friendly, and punctual. That's a tribute both to the tone set by Mauricio and the type of traveler that Gate 1 attracts.

Just wanted to say our guide Edgar for the Peru 10 day classic was the best guide ever. He went above and beyond his duties and handled everything with professionalism and grace and best guide I've ever experienced including knowledge.

Abel was a knowledgeable, positive, caring tour manager on our trip. He made sure we were always taken care of going above and beyond what was expected. I would highly recommend him as a requested trip tour manager to our friends. Rodrigo, the assistant manager for part of the tour, was very helpful and informative, as well. Walter, who assisted us in coming from and going to the airport, was friendly and welcoming. He gave us great suggestions as to what to explore on our first day in Lima. The drivers were excellent. They made us feel safe as we drove sometimes at night in heavy traffic and on windy roads. Gate1 has chosen the most excellent people to conduct this tour! I will recommend this tour to friends.

This was our first Gate 1 trip. I want to express how much we appreciated our tour manager Jose. He was likely one of the best tour guides/managers we have experienced. Excellent communication and organizational skills Incredibly knowledgeable, personable, highly responsible, always focused on our safety (physical safety as well as food), kept the group aligned around complex logistics for Machu Picchu - and just a wealth of knowledge and kindness. We were also super impressed with all the Gate 1 personnel that we encountered from the start to the end - drivers, assistant tour managers, airport transfer guides etc. - as well as the trip organization and depth experienced in a compact timeline.

I just returned from an amazing 10 day tour of Peru and I want to thank our wonderful guide Washington for a fascinating cultural experience. His indigenous background and many years of experience obviously meant our trip was seamless and our experiences were enriched from the depth of his knowledge of the country and culture. His assistant Jimmy also added a lot to our enjoyment as well. He will be someone that could follow in Washington's footsteps for sure. Highlights for me were, of course Machu Picchu (we lucked out with weather), the cultural center visit of Chinchero in the Sacred Valley and the visit to the reed islands and their inhabitants on Lake Titicaca. We had an amazing trip in Peru with Gate 1. We hit the lottery with our tour manager, Pavel. Pavel is the best tour manager we've had so far for all the discovery trips we went on. He's so kind-hearted and dedicated to his job, to our small group of 8 people 24/7 with such personal care for each one of us. He goes way over and beyond his duties to give us as much cultural experience as possible by offering optional activities in our free time such as leisure walk around our hotel in Puno, a bon fire with roasting marshmallows and music before dinner in Colca, a folklore dancing show with dinner in Puno, tasting different kinds of breads along our drives, a market tour, etc... and much more. Our journey was extra special because of Pavel. He was so excited to show us Cuzco, his beautiful hometown, and we had a wonderful 3 nights there. Thanks to our main driver, Irving, for his incredible driving skills and navigating us through a couple of transportation strikes without a hitch. Thank you Maria, Jose, and David for your local expertise in Lima, Ariquipa, and Puno. Thank you again for a memorable journey, one that we will never forget and looking forward to our next trips with Gate1.

I recently completed 10 days in Peru with Alejandro as the tour manager. I traveled alone for my 30th birthday celebration and Alejandro, all assistant tour guides, all day tour guides, and all drivers made my experience safe, comfortable, fun and one I will not soon forget. The experience was so beautiful I feel compelled to share with Gate 1 how lovely the staff was. Alejandro, Elisa, Alberto, Broz, Pepe (driver), Dante (driver), the family that hosted dinner - all deserve recognition on their phenomenal assistance. Thank you!

Henry, our tour manager is beyond excellent!!! Such a nice person that made sure we are safe and always taken cared off. This is our first time travelling with Gate1 and because of Henry this will not be the last. The only problem is that he did set a very high standard to our next tour manager, we hope he/she will be like Henry. Gate 1 is so lucky to have an employee like him to represent Gate1.

Returning home from Peru with Edgard and wanted to tell all how amazing and wonderful he was! Edgard is so knowledgeable about Peru and history, exceedingly patient and helpful. I've had 15 Gate 1 trips and Edgard rates at very top of Tour Managers I've experienced. He worked long days and nights to ensure our time and trip was extremely exceptional in every way!!

I would like to comment on our local guides. I have always appreciated the way Gate 1 showcases local culture, but I was very impressed with our guide in Peru who was also the local guide in Cuzco. His passion for his culture, sustainable tourism and conservation in general was palpable, and it gave the tour a personal touch. Thank you Julio! Also, our driver Cesar was excellent. Bus drivers have an important job in keeping travelers safe and I have GREAT respect for what they do. When you get to experience their individual personalities, it's even better! Cesar offered hand sanitizer every time we reentered the bus which I think contributed to not one person getting sick (except for a bit of altitude issues). I think it's the first time we traveled with a group where not one person shared a virus!

Mauricio was an outstanding tour manager. He went above and beyond to take care of the team. He was selfless with his knowledge and history of Peru. He was present and attentive to all our needs and concerns. Wonderful experience because of Mauricio!!

We have experienced some exceptional tour managers on previous Gate 1 tours. However, none can compare with the service provided by Pável on our Perú tour. His attention to detail was astounding, potential problems were anticipated and taken care of, nothing was too much trouble, everything was explained clearly, urgent situations were dealt with immediately, seamlessly, and with care and sensitivity to the individual concerned. All this was done with kindness and humor. His knowledge of Peru, its geography, history, and current affairs was exemplary, and provided vital insight into the country, its landscape, and people. Consequently, we loved all aspects of Peru, and the trip was a spectacular success.

I strongly suggest adding Reuben to the Gate 1 Team with greater responsibility. Juan could be a Regional Director. The Bolivian Guide David was very good.. Our experience in Buenos Aires was also 5 Stars excellent. Tour Director Pablo, similar to the Peru team, outstanding and best in class. This was our first Gate 1 journey. We have traveled with many other tour companies and based on this experience, see no reason to go with anyone but Gate 1.

It was a great vacation. Juan, our tour manager, was fantastic, very knowledgeable and excited to share his country with us. Ruben, our local guide, was knowledgeable and a very thorough and thoughtful guide. Giovanna was a great tour manager as well. All of our Gate 1 trips were fabulous, and we would recommend Gate 1 to everyone!

I recently returned from a Discovery tour of Peru. I can not say enough about every Gate 1 employee I met on this trip, especially Victor. Victor went above & beyond expectations in every way every day. His special touches made this trip even more memorable, like assuring all our rooms faced Lake Titicaca so we could see the sunrise over the lake from our rooms & bringing grass so we could feed the llamas & alpacas. He scheduled rest stops at interesting places that had more than just toilets (shops or amazing views), kept us interested with history & Peruvian tales & showed us movies that pertained to what we were to see or do. All of our city guides were wonderful, Mauricio, Renzo, David & Richard, bringing their own unique perspective on where we visited. I can not say enough about Victor. We had several medical issues with a few guests which he handled professionally & safely. He treated us like family making sure everyone was included in our activities to their ability. He is truly an asset to your company. Also, Richard will make a fantastic tour manager because he has learned from the best! Also, I'd like to mention the best bus driver on the planet, Julio, who drove our big bus thru those mountain roads like he was driving a tuk tuk!

My wife and I just finished the 10 day classic Peru trip with 5 friends that all became interested in joining us to explore Peru. We were very satisfied with the itinerary and the optional tours. Every day was packed with something spectacular to see and do. Our tour manager Roger and assistant Henry were both 5 star guides. They were extremely knowledgeable, organized, kept their cool even during difficult situations outside of their control and FUN! Machu Pichu was spectacular as expected, but there was so much more to the trip! This was our 8th gate1 tour and we'll be back with you soon.

This was an amazing trip and the TG, his assistant TG and the bus drivers were all perfect. Fredy was so knowledgeable and any questions we had were answered right away. Every recommendation was on point, from restaurants to shopping. Any suggestion he had, I took and it was exactly what I was looking for. Fredy made sure we were comfortable and was always asking if we needed anything. The assistant TG was equally as good. He made sure we had everything we needed. The bus drivers were great drivers and had our luggage in each place promptly. The TM and assistant TM brought snacks on days where we did not have time to stop and it was so good. I appreciated that we never went hungry or thirsty. This was my 5th Gate 1 trip and only solidifies why I will always be a customer. It was the little things they did that made the trip extra special.

On my way recent trip to Peru the tour manager Jimmy was the most pleasant most knowledgeable most accommodating ever. It was my 25th trip with Gate 1 Travel and he was by far the best. I think my best comment would be he was extremely proud of his country and his heritage and added a lot of richness to the trip. He went out of his way to make our experience great he explained things and wonderful detail and always try to enrich our understanding and experiences as well as our fun. The best I've had in over 10 years.

We returned yesterday from a most fantastic trip! What made it so fabulous and fun was our Tour Manager, Jean. He went above and beyond to share his vast knowledge while making sure everyone had what they needed and knew what to do and when to do it. His personality was amazing! We all had the best time being with him.

Most amazing trip and this was my 9th Gate 1trip, driver was amazing in those narrow streets and always had water and hand sanitizer ready and bus was clean, local guides were knowledgeable and interesting, tour manager Elvis showed his loved for Peru and kept harmony and in the group and kept us safe and informed. I lost my passport coming back from Machu Pichu and staff located it and arranged for the return that night which is amazing and is main reason I use gate 1 because I know they look out our health and safety. I am still amazed at what I saw and how I was taken care of for 14 days, well done!!!
