We have travelled numerous times with Gate 1, and the Tour Managers/guides have been excellent. But Keiko is head and shoulders above the rest. Not only is she unbelievably organized, but her experience as a teacher came shining through. Her communication skills, second to none. Every day, on the bus, she not only orally told us exactly what to expect, but she showed us in writing (and I'm not talking about what was posted in the hotel lobby). After we finished the item on the agenda, and were situated back on the bus, she again went through what we did, and what was next. We knew almost to the minute what to expect. You found a true gem. Lucky us.

The trip was outstanding and well done job by Gate 1 Staff at home and abroad by Mr. Fayozbek , Tour Manager and the Driver. We are very happy with Gate 1 customer service oriented Company that takes care of all travel needs and it has been proven many times. This was our 15th trip with Gate 1 and that speaks for the Company. Again, it was well done job by Gate 1 Staff at home and abroad because this trip was NOT feasible without cooperation, coordination and well planned logistics.

Thank you for reaching out. This was an amazing trip which was only enhanced by our Tour Manager Lily! She was so attentive to everyone and helped us wherever needed. She manages with real heart and care. Our "Lily Family" was like a United Nations if USA and Canadian citizens and she brought us altogether as one. The Local Guides were also fantastic! In particular Candy and Sunny, who brought with her great sunny weather! Johnny was full of energy and purpose, a consummate professional! Needless to say, it was a trip of a lifetime!

Just a note to tell you that our tour director Cindy was just excellent!! She was energetic, knowledgeable, efficient, caring, kind and sociable. Many of our tour group members felt Cindy was the best tour director so far in many of our Gate I trips.

It was a wonderful trip. Very surprised on how Yerevan and Tbilisi are very modern cities. Our guides, Varb and Nick were both excellent - very knowledgeable, kind, organized and took care of us really well. They made the trip extra special. And the food - always too much but very good. It was an amazing trip! Scenery at the monasteries in Armenia were so beautiful. I loved the old town in Tbilisi- outdoor cafes, walks along the river, and sulfur baths & spas.

I just wanted to emphasize how great our tour guide Miyuki was on my recent Japan trip. This was my first Gate 1 experience and because of her, I would go on another Gate 1 trip in the future. She went above and beyond in my opinion to make my trip the best it could possibly be. My travel partner and I were going on to Osaka after the tour ended and without any prompting, Miyuki wrote down sites to see and instructions on navigating the train system. During the tour she was fun and helpful and provided us with great historical information. She made sure everyone was happy and safe. I cannot say enough good things about her skill and personality. Gate 1 is lucky to have her as a guide! Thank you!!

This was an excellent travel experience! Our guides were absolutely wonderful: patient, attentive, very knowledgeable, just plain fun to be with every day. I learned so much from them, I wish I had recorded their explanations and fascinating stories about the 2 religions and the 2 countries. The itinerary was perfect with site visits and activities like making momos and making a mandala. Keep both of those in future itineraries for sure! Both Anup and Arun deserve special recognition for their superior guiding skills. I have shown my photos to friends and recommended very highly this trip. It is a challenge to tell them all we experienced!

This was my very first Gate 1 tour. I am not sure if any other tour will be able to match the quality of this tour. Our tour guide Eric certainly made the tour most enjoyable. He was friendly, informative, accommodating, attentive, and knowledgeable. His presence certainly added to the quality of the tour.

I just wanted to express my gratitude for the manager of my last trip - small group discovery tour of the Philippines. Lani was an outstanding manager. Her cares for all of us with evident in looking out for our safety; providing us with multiple snacks and cool wet wipes and quick to address any concern or question we had. This is our 7th Gate1 trip I believe and never had someone so hospitable. I think it's also characteristic of service in the Philippines as well as staff were always greeting us warmly and sincerely. We were like family to her. She cared for us so well and just wanted her to be recognized. She had her birthday on our trip and was nice that she still was willing to do the trip.

This tour was way beyond our expectation. Tingting was the most engaging and hardworking tour manager. She went out of her way to help each one of us, making sure we are safe, comfortable and having a good time. A real asset to Gate 1 organization. Extend our sincere gratitude to her.

The tour was great and much of it was due to the tour director, Tracy! She was without a doubt the BEST (!!) I have had on the 9 Discovery tours that I have taken with Gate 1. She went above and beyond to make sure that everything was taken care of. She did so much more than was needed to make our experience the best it could be. (She even pulled us around so that we could see more when snorkeling.) She has a great a sense of humor and is so knowledgeable, friendly, energetic, and organized. Tracey is enthusiastic and obviously loves what she does. Her upbeat attitude is contagious and helped to make our group coalesce and enjoy each other. I can't say enough good things about Tracey.

Sarah, the tour manager, was approachable, very responsible, took very good care of the 'family', that's what she called our group of 19. We appreciated the sufficiently early (but not too early) starts each day, which allowed us to beat the midday heat and the largest crowds at major monuments. I would like to share my highest recommendation for our tour manager, Mari, from our recent Gate 1 Travel experience in Japan. Mari demonstrated exceptional care and professionalism throughout the entire journey. She was especially attentive and accommodating to the elderly members of our group, always ensuring they felt comfortable, supported, and included. One of her greatest strengths was her ability to bring each destination to life. She consistently provided a clear and engaging historical background at every site we visited, which greatly enriched our travel experience. Safety was clearly her top priority. Whether guiding us across busy streets, organizing group movement through train stations, or coordinating our bullet train transfers, she remained vigilant and proactive. Her attention to detail gave everyone a strong sense of security and trust. She also made thoughtful efforts to accommodate members with dietary needs. On the rare occasions when issues arose, they were due to local restaurant limitations rather than any oversight on her part. Mari handled these situations with professionalism and care. Overall, Mari created a well-organized, safe, and enjoyable experience for the entire group. If I have the opportunity to travel to Japan again, I would absolutely request Mari as our tour manager without hesitation.

Our tour manager Jen was outstanding. She was knowledgeable and truly compassionate about her job and left a positive impression about the culture and people of the Philippines. What an unforgettable journey! From the magic of the Taj Mahal (honestly, no picture does its justice) to the peaceful, glowing Golden Temple, every place touched us in a different way. We explored the incredible Chand Baori stepwell, visited a local school that truly warmed our hearts, and experienced the powerful energy of the Wagah Border ceremony -thousands of people, so much pride, and such an electric atmosphere! We even had the chance to connect with a local farming family, which made the trip feel even more real and meaningful. But what truly made this experience exceptional was our tour manager Shael. Absolutely the BEST! Always organized, always smiling, and somehow always one step ahead of everything. He made the entire trip feel smooth, safe, and stress-free. His knowledge, attention to detail, and genuine care for everyone in the group made such a difference. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and it shows in every little thing. Traveling across so many places could have been overwhelming, but instead it felt effortless and fun thanks to them, Shael, the driver Ram Pal and assistant Ravi. This trip was beyond special... and one I'll never forget. If you're thinking about India-DO IT. And if you can, go with a tour manager like ours... it makes all the difference!

This was a fabulous journey through China, which are exceeded my expectations. Scottie was a fabulous guide. Very organized, knowledgeable, funny, and patient. The entire group loved him. I have done numerous trips with Gate One and each one has been fabulous. I'm looking forward to my next Gate One adventure!

Our tour guide Tracey was absolutely exceptional. This is our 8th tour and she is the best of the best. Her ability to deal with many different people in a calm, patient friendly manner was outstanding. Also, her organizational skills made the trip run so much smoother than others have in the past. If we could pick Tracey for every tour, we certainly would.

I cannot praise Aki, our tour director, enough. She was so knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and she surprised us with a lovely cake on our first night in Tokyo. Throughout the trip, she was incredibly patient and informative. If I could have taken her home with me, I would have!

Trip was fantastic - one of the best trips we have taken. Normally we would not want to go back to the same country, but we really liked the Philippines. The group was fantastic. The guide, Edi, was phenomenal. He went the extra mile to ensure we had what we needed and stayed patient with all the questions and requests. I would loke to thank and appreciate your tour guides especially the tour manager we known him as Mr. Joe.! He was a terrific and knowledgeable man, very friendly and helpful in many ways. Your local tour guides at Xi'an Mr. David and at ChongDu Mr. Rex were excellent. Not to mention that Ms. Sunny at Shanghi was a fantastic person with lots of enthusiasm and energy. Andy was fantastic. He was always concerned about our safety and if we were enjoying the trip. He knew seeing the Pandas was the highlight of the tour for me. He suggested we get a private tour guide and take the golf cart to the new section of the Panda reserve. It was excellent suggestion because it was easier walking with paved walkways. Michelle, our guide was excellent and we saw younger Pandas in the new section. I will certainly book on Gate 1 again. Andy is a fantastic ambassador for the company.

We had an AMAZING time in China. Our TM, Andy, was very knowledgeable and did everything to make our trip an unforgettable experience. All transfers by plane, train, bus, local trips, and extra shows were smooth and easy. This is a trip you MUST do, to see the Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, terracotta warriors, Xian Opera, and the Three Gorges, all in one trip, simply incredible.

The trip was fabulous. Both our tour directors, Mark and Arun, were exceptional and went out of their way to make this a fantastic trip. It was great! I'm glad we didn't cancel because of the war. We had a great time! Our tour guide, bus drivers, food & hotels were all excellent. People are friendly, helpful & the tour was excellent! All the folks in our group are all nice we didn't have any issues. I didn't hear any complaints about this tour. We are all excited to discovery Uzbekistan and we are not disappointed. It's a beautiful place, clean & it's the cheapest country we've been to. When our friends asked us why Uzbekistan? I told them they need to see it first themselves. We are thankful Gate 1 had this tour! Thank you for helping us with booking this tour. This is our 3rd tour with Gate 1, the first 2 were a disappointment but this tour makes up for it.

Tour Dir/Leader was the best I have had and I have travelled the world with other companies. His mind was like Wikipedia, he is also a motivational speaker in how he kept us going, he was sensitive to our needs truly an outstanding employee who represents your company at its best. Our guide, Akmal, was outstanding in every way. He was gracious, attentive to our every need, extremely well-organized, and a wonderful communicator with a warm sense of humor and a very positive attitude. He sought feedback and was open to suggestions. His English was very, very good. I had been trying to visit Uzbekistan for many years--having Akmal for my guide was worth the wait. His knowledge of Central Asia and Islam was very deep, and he was passionate about helping us understand the sweep of history and culture in the region. I feel fortunate to have had this very talented young man as my guide. He made me want to return to Uzbekistan and see more!

Surprised is not the word to describe our Japan vacation. We were amazed by the friendliness of the people and the cleanliness of the cities and entire country. Our tour guide, Yoyo, was very detailed and encompassing throughout the entire trip from the smallest personal details to navigating the crowded train terminals so that our group is not separated. She gave insight to the history and brought the events to light as what transformed Japan to the 21st century. She was very communicative, friendly, polite, kind, and worked tirelessly to ensure that we had an exceptional trip and experience. What a wonderful tour guide for a wonderful trip!

I just wanted to say that Anup, our tour guide, was fantastic in every way! He truly looked after us and provided that extra something that only the best tour guides can do. Anup deserves high praise for his knowledge, friendly and funny personality, and his level of care for myself and our group that was unmatched by any other tour guides I've had!

My husband and I took this trip because of the Great Silk Road. Our expectations were beyond our beliefs. We were so impressed with the country's history and culture, most especially the people of Uzbekistan. We were in so much awe of the mosques and madrasas built intricately and elaborately with mosaics of blue tiles. Admiringly, the people are so friendly and helpful. In many instances when we did our own sightseeing, such as the Metro Stations, the Orthodox Church and the Catholic church of the Assumption and the Sacred Heart of Jesus respectively, The Hotel Uzbekistan, the Amir Temur Square and the Seoul Mun, random citizens were eagerly assisting us with taxis and directions. Ilkhom, our tour manager was a huge part in our positive experiences, learning about the Silk Road in Uzbekistan, sharing to us his vast knowledge of his country.

I just returned from the 15 day China with Yangtze River trip. This trip was excellent. Everything about it was beyond expectation. Our tour guide in China ( Maggie), is outstanding and should be commended on the handling and expertise on the entire trip. She went out of her way to make sure everyone's needs were taken care of and the trip was a memorable. Thank you for a great trip.

I just want to say that this was my first time with Gate 1 and I was very impressed with everything. Our tour manager, Maggie was amazing. She always made sure that the group was satisfied whether it was our meals, our hotel accommodations, the speed of the group. I was very impressed with the hotel accommodations, especially the Howard Johnson. The breakfasts at the hotels were great, wide variety of food. We arrived home yesterday, April 2. We had the most wonderful time in China. Our tour manager Gloria was very well organized and kept us schedule. She was excellent going way above the call of duty to answer and help the some seniors in our group and offering suggestions for our extra extension days in China. In Shanghai our city guide Christina was so helpful, keeping us moving forward in spite of the hordes of cruise ship tourists in the area we visited. Excellent service !! This was our first Discovery Tour and # 19 Gate1 tour for us. Definitely not our last.

I wanted to provide some feedback on our tour guide Junko who was truly outstanding. She was one of the most attentive guides we've had among our dozen or so trips with Gate1. We had some very challenging fellow guests on board and had one person who fell. She handled everything with care, understanding, patience and professionalism. She gave us a true representation of Japanese attentiveness to service and hospitality and made us feel very welcome. Her thoughtfulness during some of the longer bus trips by giving us little samples of Japanese goodies was so kind. And her ability to help us navigate through the maze of Tokyo Station and Shinjoku stations was remarkable. She kept the 22 members of our group always under her watchful eye. I would highly recommend her for future tours. She truly made Japan come alive for us. Thank you, Junko, Kit and me!!

The trip was very good. Kevin, the tour guide, made it a memorable trip with his great sense of humour. I will give 10 out of 10.

I just had the most amazing tour of southern spiritual India where Raj was our guide. I have to say this was the best tour I've ever had in my life and Raj made it possible. The guy is absolutely a fireball full of information cool stories and goes beyond the call of duty to make everything perfect and comfortable and everyone happy I was truly impressed by him on every level. This was the best 16 days I've spent ever and I travel a lot. Haven been to over 70 countries I would recommend this tour to my friends and especially with him as a guide. We had a small group of 14 with some complicated characters, but Raj was able to notice us all and create an unforgettable experience we witnessed and experience things which never could've been achieved. Had I've been on my own or with a private group. I've done a private group 10 years ago in northern India, and it was a completely different experience this surpassed tenfold I'm still recovering from the amount of information visual stimulation and unpacking my bags with beautiful things. We were able to get there as a memory, Raj is truly an amazing man. I will always remember him. I hope to cross paths with him again thank you for giving us such an opportunity.

Absolutely fantastic trip! This might be my 26th with Gate 1 and despite the worry about the war, I'm so glad I was able to arrive in Sri Lanka. Our guide, Indika, was absolutely one of the best. The itinerary hit all the highlights and overall, I learned a lot about a very different culture. Mountains, tea plantations, safaris, the beach and archeological sites...enough said.
