We thoroughly enjoyed our recent Iceland tour! I wanted to specifically mention our tour guide, RJ, and driver, Daniel. They were outstanding and a big part of why we will recommend Gate 1 and book again ourselves. Warm, friendly, knowledgeable - made the trip a pleasure. I felt safe and knew we were in good hands from the start. Thanks for a memorable vacation!

Our guide Johanna is outstanding. She is friendly, very pleasant, organized and efficient. She brought us lots favorite local goodies, sang and played the piano for us. The entire group loved her BIG time. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and look forward to traveling

My trip to Iceland was great. The Center Plaza Hotel was perfectly located, the rooms were modern and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed perfect weather. All purchased excursions were informative and fun. Reykjavík's bus system is a bit chaotic, however. I missed the presence of a tour guide! Thanks for another great value travel experience!

I just want to reiterate what a great trip this was. And, to say that Gate 1 consistently has excellent tours. I will be back for more.

I wanted to give an EXTRA shout out to my recent guide, Linda, on the "8 Day Affordable Iceland with Lagoons & Northern Lights Hunt." Linda was wonderfully skilled and organized at handling special meal requests! I was SO happy at each meal to be served something I would enjoy and that was all because of Linda! Our driver, Alli, was great too. :) And a quick note, Hotel Hussafel was amazing--absolutely loved it and would've loved more time there.

This was my first Gate 1 tour. Our tour manager Linda was excellent as well as our driver Dunni. I can't thank them enough for making our Iceland trip such a terrific experience. I've been recommending Gate 1 to anyone thinking of going on a tour. I already have another Gate1 trip booked! Thank you!

Just returned from a tour of Iceland. We can't praise our tour manager, Bergur and driver, Fusi enough! Their knowledge and passion for their home was beyond amazing. Every aspect of the trip was absolutely wonderful. It was our first tour ever and it did not disappoint. Loved every day of the tour, it was well planned and the accommodations were excellent. Our trip was AMAZING!!! Gate 1 planned this trip perfectly!! Every sightseeing experience had the *WOW* factor and even the indoor events (e.g. FlyOver, LAVA) way surpassed my expectations. The food was also very delicious. Everything was sequenced very well, too. Ending the trip with the Blue Lagoon made great sense as by then we were fully concealed as a group so it was a fun social event as well as an amazing experience in its own right. I wouldn't change a thing. I am recommending Gate 1 to everyone I know!

Iceland is a beautiful country with so much to see and do. We toured Reykjavik with Margret, our tour manager, who was extremely knowledgeable on all things Iceland. . Our driver,even dropped us off in the city for additional sightseeing during our leisure time if we chose to go. There were so many highlights, such as walking behind the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and having lunch in the Friemeier greenhouse. Another highlight was the Blue Lagoon, which was an included, not optional, tour. Although this Iceland tour was only six days, they were packed with exciting sights. This was my sixth Gate 1 tour and is among my favorites.

I just wanted to congratulate Oli our TM and Daniel our driver. Oli is an absolute gem, nice, caring, so knowledgeable, funny, very organized, it was a real pleasure to spend this week with him, he made the tour absolutely perfect, shared his passion for his island, had plenty of great local stories to tell, he is a wonderful person. Daniel is a great driver, a very nice and funny man, he was super caring, distributing water on the bus several times a day, standing by the doors to help clients get off, spending time with the group, making all us safe and comfortable ... it did feel like a family tour, the group harmony was incredible, thanks to all the clients who were nice, fun and respectful of the timings, and to Oli and Daniel who welcomed us in their country like family. Well done both of them, the perfect team, they made our holidays unforgettable!

Just want to give a shout out to Victor, our tour guide. He was personable, helpful, knowledgeable, funny, skilled in dealing with varying personalities, generous (provided regional treats throughout the tour), safety conscious, and kind to everyone. He also had a lot of interesting, informative, humorous stories along the way. He worked especially hard to get our fjord tour rebooked the following day after Storm Amy shut down the cruise line. He worked very hard to make sure, throughout the whole tour, that people were happy; knew things to see and do on our own; and were informed of local culture, history and geography. Victor made the tour as enjoyable as it could possibly be, and we so appreciate his efforts in making it so!

Our trip to Iceland was great. We enjoyed the Golden Circle and South Shore excursions. Hotel Klettur was nice, the staff very friendly and helpful, and in a great location. We liked doing the independent tour here because it gave us time to explore Reykjavik on our own and enjoy meals out. We arrived in Reykjavik a day before the tour started, and stayed 2 days after, so had plenty of time to enjoy Iceland.

I wanted to let you know that you have a treasure in your TM - Ragnhildur. Wow! She was enchanting and always enthusiastic. She clearly loves what she does and made everyone feel so special. She seemed excited about every part of the trip (a gift since I know that she has seen it all way too many times)! Her zest and zeal made each of us look forward to the next thing. She taught us so much about Iceland - both past and present with just the right amount of detail! She is a keeper!

It was wonderful. Our guide Johnny was the perfect combination of informative and funny. Loved the people we met and the natural beauty of the landscapes.

Our Scandinavia trip was great ! It was sunny every day (which we now know is pretty much unheard of there), and that meant we were always outside enjoying the spectacular scenery. Copenhagen, Oslo, and Bergen are beautiful cities and easily walkable. Our hotel in Oslo was really close to the Opera House, and we were able to get tickets ! Sebastian, our guide, was really knowledgeable, plus very approachable, personable, and fun. Great trip !

Having never traveled with Gate 1, I didn't know what to expect. The trip exceeded my expectations. I have traveled with other companies and I enjoyed this trip far more than any previous experience. First our tour leader Zoran is amazing - personable, knowledgeable and a born story teller. He insured everyone had a great time. The variety of experiences ran the gambit from educational to fun to nature-filled. Highlights included the Nobel Peace museum in Oslo and the farm visit to Ovre Eide Gard. ( Many other activities were amazing also.) We had many varied photo opts and time to explore on our own. Local guides were all quality and enthusiastic. The food was excellent and plentiful. (Bathroom breaks worked well and we're always in clean facilities.) I can't say enough positive about our trip. I will look for other opportunities to travel with Gate 1 and certainly I will tell all my friends. Thank you.

I want to let you know that Linda, our tour guide was really fantastic. She was so knowledgeable and shared not only details about what we were seeing but also insight into the Icelandic people. She clearly was proud of Iceland and its people and we were able to learn about the culture and people as well. She also was funny, informative, friendly and non intrusive. I think she is a fantastic tour guide and I wish I could book my next tour with her!

My husband and I just finished an 9 day Iceland Gate 1 tour. I just want to let you know that Linda, our guide, was the best guide we have experienced among all Gate 1 tours we have taken. She is super organized, super knowledgeable, and did an excellent job at explaining Iceland's nature, history, culture, current events. We felt we learned a great deal about Iceland, and will remember this trip for a long time. She is also very thorough, and proactively took care of each and all tour members' needs. She is a model tour guide!

I don't usually give extra comments but felt I needed to for this trip. It was the best trip I have taken with gate 1 and other tours with other tour groups. Part of this is because of the mix of culture, history and beauty of the tour and the way Gate 1 presented it. It was magnificent. More importantly for me it was our tour guide Stephanie who presented a very high level of engagement, enthusiasm and curiosity every day which elevated the emotional part of the trip. You couldn't help but be engaged during the entire trip and wonder about a whole bunch of stuff you never thought you could wonder about. She was so knowledgeable, fun and approachable. A fabulous memory.

This was my first Gate 1 trip, and I have taken other small group land tours with other similar companies, so I can compare. I was very pleased with this trip and will consider traveling with Gate I again. I chose it for the itinerary, and it did not disappoint. Each location offered great local guides, very good accommodations and meals. The additional activities were all worthwhile- the candy making, the ski jump sites, and the farm near Bergen. Our host on the farm, by name of Arild was exceptional to gain an insight into the life of someone, keeping farmstead life alive amidst the current national system. One suggestion would be to have a complimentary visit with younger people in modern day Norway, say college students to see their perspective on life other prospects given the world situation. Our trip leader Zoran was exceptional in his professional manner and complete attention to detail and friendly personality...this contributed to our group of 16 becoming good travel companions and having an overall wonderful experience.

Mickie was a terrific tour manager. He was very knowledgeable, personable, efficient, and professional. He truly cared about our experience and kept us well informed and entertained with his personal stories and experiences as they related to Norwegian culture, traditions, and way if life.

The 6 days Iceland tour was an excellent value which captured the unique "fire and ice" beauty of Iceland in a short time. Our fantastic guide Hanna and skilled driver Alli made the experience truly enjoyable and memorable. Hanna is a truly remarkable host and guide. Her passion for sharing Icelandic culture is contagious, and her patience and deep knowledge made every moment both educational and fun.

The trip to Sweden and Norway with your Discovery Tours was the first trip we have taken with a tour group. We were so impressed with the entire trip. It was informative, well planned and had the best tour guide, MaLou, and bus driver, Finn, that I could imagine. The tour gave us a great overview of both countries. We plan to go back and see even more of Sweden and Norway one day. The guides for individual sites were great. We learned so much and have fallen in love with the people. MaLou and Finn took everything in stride. They were both so calm. Itinerary was changed due to the weather seamlessly. Everything just flowed so well. Our luggage was taken care of by Finn, which was so appreciated. I cannot say enough about MaLou. Her enthusiasm for these countries was wonderful. I felt that I learned so much about the land, the culture and the people from her. She was always willing to talk about any questions we had about these. She encouraged getting to know the people on our tour even though we were with another couple. We all ate and spent time with everyone. I really appreciate this. It is easy to do what is comfortable, but she made everything comfortable. She was always available. One couple lost their phone, and she was able to get it back to them very quickly. I love her easy-going demeanor. Nothing seemed to upset her, even when people were late in the morning. The itinerary always worked out. Thank you for putting together this trip and especially thank you for MaLou being our guide. I am not sure you can top this trip, but we will most definitely try some of your other trips.

The trip was great, beautiful scenery, meeting lovely people but the person I must highlight was our guide Anneli. I have never had a guide so knowledgeable as she is. There wasn't a question she couldn't answer. She was very concerned about our safety, made it very clear when we were on a tight schedule to be prompt, and made us laugh. She went above and beyond to ensure our trip was as good as it could be. You should be proud to have her one of your staff. I would love to be on another trip with her.

Had a great time and learned so much. The tour director, Michael, was not just the best tour director I've ever had whether Gate 1, Trafalgar, Globus, etc. He was the absolute best ever. What an outstanding and exceptional Tour Director!!! You have the best ever there working for you.

Christian is an outstanding guide for the Norway and Sweden tour. We've taken 16 Gate One tours, he is among the best tour managers and that means something given the excellence of our other tour managers. Christian is affable, perspnable, knowledgeable and caring. I loved the pacing of the tour. Every day was filled with fun activities and travel.

I would like to complement our tour director, Martin and our driver Tor for the wonderful job both of them did on the recent tour of Scandinavia that my friend Denise and I attended. Martin was incredibly organized and thoughtful to all of us. He made sure that everything went smoothly along the way. He even went out of his way to write up a summary of our itinerary for us so we would have a printed souvenir to remember our trip! Tor was a friendly and very safe driver; I don't know how he was able to negotiate some of those turns through the mountains in Norway! We had a wonderful time on this trip and would highly recommend Martin and Tor to anyone who travels with Gate 1.

Very memorable to say the least. Our tour guide, Linda, was excellent. She covered everything imaginable about Iceland. Not one minute was wasted. And she was very caring about the 35 of us as far as who was on the bus, our needs, and answering questions. She went to the max in showing us a good time from day one to the last day. And even gave out Puffin pins as souvenirs for our farewell dinner. Ali our driver was also the best you could have. Friendly and safety minded. My wife and I can't say enough about this experience. It was one of the best and enjoyable. The scenery of Iceland is spectacular. Something everybody should see in their lifetime. This is an award winning tour and more than worth it. I would recommend it to anyone. Way to go, Gate 1 !!

I have traveled with G1 in several different ways but this Stay at the Scandic Hotel the whole time with excursions both in Copenhagen and into the surrounding area has to be my best experience with you. The hotel was clean, efficient and very Scandinavian and centrally located so walking the city was easy and the breakfasts on the 6th floor overlooking the canal were fantastic. Our guide Michael was attentive, informative, entertaining and he introduced us to many Danish treats we would not have tried on our own. He was a delight to travel with and Tim the bus driver was patient and made the trips outside the area feel very safe. All of the optional tours to the Viking museum, the castles and Maritime museum and the trip to Malmo and Lund in Sweden were well planned and broadened my understanding of the area and its history. The walking tours within Copenhagen gave a sense of place. Tivoli was delightful. The immersive nature of staying in one place for a week is a concept I hope you expand upon. I am certainly going to look for "Stay" tours from now on.

I just completed my post trip survey and wanted to leave a few words of appreciation for our Tour Director Johnny. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, punctual, and always did his best to anticipate our needs and take care of any requests and questions we had. I especially want to commend our driver, Thomas. He was by far one of the best drivers I have ever had. His attention to the motor coach supplies and cleanliness was impeccable. His driving skills were so good that he put you at ease and comfortable knowing he had our safety in mind at all times. Be assured, the roads in Norway require a lot of skill maneuvering a large motor coach. I can't stress enough, he was professional, punctual, friendly, knew the roads well, and just went out of his way to make our trip enjoyable. Don't know if you reward your employees in any way, but he deserves a gold star. Please let him know we truly appreciated his efforts.

The trip was wonderful. Martin our tour guide and Christian the driver truly made the entire experience a perfect introduction to Scandinavia and made the travel experience well organized, pleasant, fun and special. I have never done a tour and was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it but I think this was because of Martin and how well he managed 41 different people and handled every detail so things went smoothly throughout our travels. Looking forward to future trips.

This was my 15th or 16th Gate 1 trip and the tour manager and driver were by far the BEST! Berglind kept us engaged with loads of history and information, plus many folklore stories, sagas and songs. Driver Füsi was friendly, professional and thoughtful. He would pick wild berries as we hiked or toured at a site to share with us on our return. He was the first driver who learned our names and greeted us by name each time! The itinerary was excellent. I felt like I had seen and experienced so much of Iceland and I want more!!

Our hotels were great, the food was excellent, and the people were very friendly. Additionally, our fantastic tour manager, Berglind, was superb. Berglind always made sure we were safe (especially from dangerous areas), was organized, on time and very friendly and accommodating. She was the only tour manager we ever had who sang songs to us in her beautiful voice. She also entertained us with Icelandic sagas. We were enthralled with Berglind as we were with Iceland. Last but certainly not least was the best bus driver ever - Füsi!! He not only drove us safely around the country but he - interacted with all of us, addressed us by our first names, was funny and caring. Füsi even picked wild blueberries for us! What a joy he was! I will continue to "see more of the world for less" with Gate 1 because of the wonderful tours you have and the awesome tour managers and bus drivers you employ.

Communication, airports, airlines, tour guide Madeline (EXCELLENT!!!), bus driver Sven (EXCELLENT!!!), all the accommodations in multiple locations & all the staff at locations! An overall a great trip led by Madeline & Sven! Thank you Gate1 for an amazing experience!

The trip was incredible. Our tour manager and driver were fabulous - Malou and Stein - thank you for another amazing trip. The bus was so nice - it had two doors which helped so much, a bathroom and it was very new. The tour manager, Malou, was so excited about every stop. She was so fantastic. It was as though she was excited to see it for the first time and so refreshing. She got everyone so excited about every stop. The driver was so good and such a safe driver. The bus was updated and very new. They kept the seat rotation which was nice. Meals and hotels were great. My husband loved the brewery tour with the brothers hosting us.

11 Day Kaleidoscope of Iceland - This was my first time traveling with Gate 1 and I was impressed with the service, accommodations, and the entire trip. Just wanted to comment on how amazing our tour manager, Thor, is. He's so knowledgeable and passionate about his home country and incredibly insightful, patient, funny, organized, and very professional. We enjoyed Iceland so much more because of him.

We had a wonderful trip! Everything went perfect. Our Tour manager, MaLou, was excellent! She did a fantastic job of giving our small friendly group a memorable and incredible tour. Our local guide for 2 days in Stockholm, Vee, was a great guide. This trip was another wonderful Gate1 experience. Norway is spectacular! Thanks.

We just returned from touring the Ring Road of Iceland. It was a great trip with so many natural wonders ---waterfalls, glaciers, volcanoes, and thermal springs. Our guide, RJ, was phenomenal and just a genuinely caring person. She made us feel like family from the very start. We will remember Iceland all the more fondly due to having her as our guide! Gate 1 is truly very fortunate to have her as an employee.

Hanna was a wonderful tour guide, professional and knowledgeable as well as a lovely person. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our trip! If we return to Iceland in the future, I hope that we might be so lucky to have Hanna provide us with another great travel experience.

It's our first vacation with a tour group and Gate 1. We have always traveled on our own with me planning the itinerary. Gate 1s cost was so reasonable, we were not sure what to expect. We thought everything planned by Gate 1 for this short Iceland trip was amazing. There was lots of very clear information and instruction prior to the trip. Once in Iceland, everything went smoothly, we were met at the airport, directed to our bus and taken for a wonderful breakfast. Our guide, Serri was attentive, helpful and informative. She was Outstanding. The tours planned covered all the Iceland highlights and we were given ample time at each stop to explore or shop. Ten meals were included, and for the price of the tour we were not expecting such delicious, well presented meals. The hotel in Haller was in the middle of no where but was lovely, food was great, room was clean and comfortable. And staff could not have done more to accommodate us! We will certainly recommend this Iceland tour with Gate 1. We will definitely use Gate 1 again.
